So this week is about accountability. I’ve been trying to do a low carb diet, but the first few days always go well and then around Thursday I fall off. I don’t feel too bad because I know overall I’m eating healthier than I’ve done in a while, but I want to really go no sugar for a week at least once per month.
So this week I want to see if I can take a photo of every thing I eat.
My healthy eating plan is to eat low carb all week Monday to Friday then take Saturday off and resume on Sunday.
I will post an update at the end of the week.
*****March 5th – Update*******
Success! 5 days without consuming any breads, pasta or rice and no sugar. I cooked almost every day and took leftovers for lunch the next day.
There were a couple days when I was really hungry because the food wasn’t enough but I made it to the next meal without resorting to eating crap. It is important to increase portions when eating like this. or have good healthy snacks. I bought some almonds and started carrying them to work to eat between meals.
Remembering to take pics BEFORE eating was a challenge, lol. I would be finished or halfway through a meal before realizing that I didn’t take a photo. But I think it still had the effect I wanted in that It made me more disciplined about what I ate.
Which brings me to what I am most proud of this week; having the discipline to stick it out. A coworker had a birthday and offered me some treats that I refused. And not eating ANY fruit the entire time. That was more difficult that I thought it would be especially with a refrigerator filled with fruit.
I will eventually post some pictures as soon as I get around to resizing them.
